Inspired by Hans Christian Anderson’s The Little Mermaid, The Little Alien reimagines the story in space, amid inter-galactic wars and parallel worlds. Princess Leira dreams of escaping from her boring planet but, when she does for a short time, she falls in love and is willing to sacrifice anything to win her Prince. The question is, is he worth it?
This imaginative space-age adventure contains a range of fun characters from Sorceress’s cats to Robots to a bunch of rebellious Princesses. There are up to 45 parts, with plenty of opportunity for multi-role playing.
The songs in The Little Alien play to your cast’s strengths with some challenging solo numbers for confident singers to relish and some large group numbers for everyone, regardless of singing ability, to enjoy. Those familiar with Hans Christian Anderson’s tale may have fun spotting the anagram references and nods to the original story in the script!
